[Event Report] “International Understanding Session for kids”

We held the annual “International Understanding Session for kids” during spring break.

This time, people from Germany and Indonesia participated, and they shared various things using videos, such as:

  • Culture and customs of their home countries, interesting stories
  • Things that surprised them when they came to Japan

There were many things that we never learn from textbooks!

In the latter half, we also studied “YASASHII NIHONGO; Easy Japanese,” which has been attracting attention recently. They learned that among foreigners living in Japan, there are more people who can speak Japanese than those who can speak English. Speaking easy Japanese makes communication even smoother.

Some might have had questions like “Why do we need to learn ‘easy Japanese’ when we can already speak Japanese?” or “Wouldn’t it be better to learn English?” But I’m sure they found the answers!
