Kohoku International Lounge offers classes for studying Japanese to non-native Japanese speakers living around Kohoku-ku. Eight independent classes are operated by volunteers during the week except Wednesdays. Students can participate in any of these classes as long as rooms and volunteers are available. Please check the class schedule below and visit our lounge to join a trial lesson. No reservation is required.
We are Non-profit voluntary place for foreigner learning basic Japanese on daily needs.
So we can not provide documents to get student visa.

100 yen per lesson. You will be asked to pay the total amount at the beginning of the term. For example, if you take the class 12 times in a term, you need to pay 1200 yen at the beginning.

* Teacher
Teachers are volunteers living in Kohoku region and trained as supporters for students learning Japanese.
* Child care service
During Monday and Thursday morning classes, our lounge offers child care services from 10:00 am to 11:55 am.
Children must satisfy the following age restriction to receive the child care service.
- Monday: Between the age of 1 and 6 years old
- Thursday: Between the age of 1 and 6 years old
One cannot receive child care services on both days in the same term. Please choose only one child care service, either Monday or Thursday.
