From August 9 to August 11, we held a “Nandemo Kyoushitsu” for children connected to foreign countries, organized primarily by the student group Youth International Nandemo Kyoshitsu.
Approximately 20 children each day, connected to countries such as Nepal, Sudan, China, Germany, Mongolia, Thailand, the Philippines, Taiwan, and more, participated in the event. The children brought their summer homework, Japanese language study materials, and drills they wanted to work on.
The teachers were high school and university students who volunteered to help. They also participated in orientation and training sessions and provided enthusiastic support.
On the final day, the children joined the “Nostalgic Games and Festival” . They enjoyed traditional activities such as kendama, fukuwarai, hanetsuki, super ball scooping, and resin accessory making, and we saw many happy smiles.
For the children, it must have been a wonderful summer memory.
The “Youth International Nandemo Kyoshitsu” also holds “Nichiyou Nandemo Kyoshitsu; Sunday Classes.” Both children and students are welcome to join those sessions as well. We look forward to seeing you there!
