An event titled “Let’s Dive Deep into Chinese Tea” was held, led by our staff member, Ouyang, who is from China.
We learned about the history of Chinese tea, tea utensils, the Six Major Teas (six types of tea), tea etiquette, and more. We also participated in a quiz about the pairing of tea and tea utensils and had the opportunity to see various tea leaves. After watching the meticulous process of tea preparation, we enjoyed two types of tea (Dianhong and Ba Bao Cha) along with tea sweets. Chinese tea can be enjoyed not only for its taste but also as a performance in the way it is brewed!
There were many questions from the participants, and Ouyang remarked, “I was surprised by how eagerly everyone listened and showed such great interest in Chinese tea.”
