【Event Report】 Kimono Dressing and Tea Ceremony Experience (2/9)

On February 9th, an event titled “Kimono Dressing and Tea Ceremony Experience” was held. A total of 15 participants, including Japanese language learners and their friends, took part in the event, making it a vibrant and enjoyable gathering.

Members of the Fashion Culture Study Group helped with the kimono dressing, including the wearing of Furisode and Montsuki Hakama. They also gave a lecture on kimono and demonstrated efficient fabric cutting techniques using bolts of cloth.

Afterward, we enjoyed seasonal sweets, “Kantsubaki” (winter camellia), and thin tea in a standing tea ceremony using the Misonodana, presented by the Urasenke Takei Tea Group.

Many foreign participants with an interest in Japanese traditional culture attended, making it a wonderful opportunity for international exchange. (Exchange Planning Department)
