【Event Report】Japanese Language Class (Tuesday Evening) – Shamisen and Shakuhachi Performance

On Tuesday evening, December 9, we invited members of the traditional Japanese music group “Sho” to hold a second-term class event.

They performed folk songs from all over Japan, ranging from “Soran Bushi” of Hokkaido to “Tankō Bushi” of Fukuoka. The performances featured the shamisen, shakuhachi, small taiko drum, and hayashi accompaniment, creating an exciting and lively atmosphere.

To conclude the event, learners and volunteers danced “Tokyo Ondo” together. It was a joyful moment filled with smiles and made us already look forward to next summer.

Sharing this experience of Japanese culture with our learners was truly meaningful, and it became a precious and memorable time for all of us.
