On December 14, the second session of the “Japanese Traditional Culture” series, titled “Musubu (Tying)”, was held.
Following the talk, participants created mizuhiki bookmarks and Christmas straps. In Japan, seasonal events take place every month, and learning about their origins and how they relate to the concept of tying (musubu) was particularly fascinating. The presentation was also easy to understand for international participants.
When making the Awaji-knot straps, the room grew so quiet , as everyone worked with great concentration. The finished pieces turned out beautifully.
It was a meaningful and enjoyable time shared together.
