The student organization “Youth International Nandemo kyo-shitsu” organized an event on December 27th and 28th during the winter break. This event was planned by the students, starting last year, due to many requests from parents who participated in the event during the summer break.
Students brought their homework and drills, and received one-on-one teaching from the high school and college students. Many children also challenged themselves to calligraphy this time. Some children were able to create works they were truly satisfied with after two days of effort!
On the last day, everyone gathered together for a fun event, where they made New Year’s cards and enjoyed a game with gifts. Some children wrote cards for the volunteer students who had taught them, while others wrote cards for their family and friends.
At the end, when it was time to say goodbye, some children hugged the students who had taught them, not wanting to part. We even received messages from teachers and parents saying, “The children were very happy.”
