Annual “Furusato Kohoku Fureai Matsuri” / “Autumn Yokohari-kun Matsuri” (Joint Event)
This year, the event will be held on Saturday, November 30, at Yokohama Arena (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, rain or shine).
Kohoku Lounge will have a booth at the event! In light of next year’s TICAD 9 (The Tokyo International Conference on African Development) being held in Yokohama, we’ll be promoting Africa and its culture.
We’re collaborating with NPO Ichigo JAM to organize various activities. Please come and join us!
Event Highlights:
- Main Stage at Yokohama Arena 1F – Fureai Matsuri
11:15 AM – 12:30 PM
Enjoy a performance featuring African drums, including a performance by Guinean artists.
・Yokohari-kun Matsuri at Yokohama Arena 2F Centennial Hall
12:45 PM – 1:15 PM
Experience playing the djembe (African drum). Don’t miss this hands-on opportunity!

Starting from 10:00 AM, first-come, first-served, until materials run out
Kohoku Lounge and Ichigo JAM will host a workshop. You can experience making crafts with African fabric and try on traditional African costumes.
